How do I evaluate broker support?

By Chris Sanford · Reviewed October 27, 2026

"Support" means different things to different agents. Define the support you need, then check whether it exists, who provides it, and how you'd access it.

Define it

  • Transaction questions (contracts, compliance, problem files)
  • Business-building (prospecting, follow-up, marketing)
  • Technology (tools, training, who helps when something breaks)
  • Community (peers you can call)

Test it

For each type you need, ask:

  1. Who specifically provides it?
  2. How do I request it, and how fast is the typical reply?
  3. Is it included, or does it cost extra?
  4. Can I talk to an agent currently using it?

Watch for

  • Answers that describe a feeling instead of a process.
  • Support that depends on one person being available.
  • Promises of results rather than descriptions of help.
