The direct answer

As of October 27, 2026, the latest reported quarter is AGNT’s second quarter ended June 30. Results show higher consolidated revenue and transactions alongside a net loss. The reported agent count covers the broader AGNT platform, including acquired operations, so it should not be described as an eXp-only organic growth measure.

Key takeaways

  • Keep the reporting period visible.
  • Label consolidated platform counts accurately.
  • Separate acquired growth from organic growth.
  • Read GAAP, adjusted, and cash-flow measures together.

Identify the reporting period and company

Start with the date on the report. A press release published in August can describe a quarter ending in June. It does not establish a live agent count or current cash balance in late October.

AGNT’s October 27 announcement schedules third-quarter results for November 5, 2026. Until those results are released, the second-quarter release and June 30 Form 10-Q are the latest reported quarterly sources reviewed here.

Also distinguish the parent from its operating brands. The AGNT name-change explanation addresses that structure. Consolidated financial statements combine the reporting group under accounting rules; a number labeled AGNT should not casually become an eXp-only claim. This is particularly important when acquisitions change the group between comparison periods.

Read the headline figures together

Q2 2026 consolidated measureReported result
RevenueAbout $1.45 billion
GAAP net loss$2.7 million
Adjusted EBITDA$25.7 million; non-GAAP
Real estate sales transactions132,497
Platform agent and broker count87,338 at June30

The figures come from the quarterly filing and earnings release. They describe different aspects of the business. Revenue is activity measured in dollars, transactions describe production, net income reflects accounting results, and an adjusted measure changes the calculation through specified exclusions.

A reader should resist using only the largest favorable number. Higher revenue can coexist with a net loss. Positive adjusted EBITDA can coexist with expenses excluded from that measure. Neither observation alone settles the quality of the business; it identifies the next explanation to read.

Separate acquired growth from organic growth

The filing says the increase in agent count was primarily associated with the NextHome acquisition. It also discusses pressure on the organic agent base. That makes the distinction between platform growth and eXp-only growth material. See the agent-count discussion in the filing.

For an original illustration, imagine a company starts with 80,000 agents, loses 2,000 organically, and acquires a business with 6,000 agents. It ends with 84,000, an overall increase despite organic contraction. These invented figures illustrate the concept and are not AGNT’s detailed reconciliation.

When comparing periods, ask whether the reporting perimeter stayed the same. Request a comparable breakdown before claiming that a larger total proves stronger recruiting, better retention, or superior agent satisfaction at one brand.

Distinguish accounting profit from cash movement

Revenue, net income, operating cash flow, and adjusted operating measures answer different questions. Read the definitions and reconciliations instead of treating them as interchangeable indicators of financial health.

An original example: a company can report revenue from completed business while cash timing differs because of receivables or payment obligations. Another company can show positive operating cash flow during a period influenced by working-capital changes. These possibilities explain why a single cash figure should be evaluated with the surrounding statements.

For a brokerage, examine the relationship between gross commission revenue and amounts paid to agents, along with operating expenses and obligations. Avoid comparing a gross-revenue model with a net-fee model as though their headline revenue figures measured the same economic activity. Definitions matter as much as scale.

Translate results into practical agent questions

An agent considering affiliation can use the report to form questions about investment, service capacity, product rollout, and business priorities. The report does not replace a local support evaluation or prove that a specific agent will earn more.

Ask whether announced initiatives are operating now, in a limited rollout, or planned. Identify which claims are management expectations and which are completed results. A forecast is useful context, but it should not be rewritten as a fact about an unreleased period.

If you hold company stock, separate the affiliation decision from the investment decision. The Agent Equity Program guide explains the purchase mechanism; it does not recommend a security. Financial reporting can inform analysis without supplying a personal buy, sell, or hold conclusion.

Maintain a repeatable quarterly review

Use the same worksheet each quarter: reporting date, entity scope, revenue, gross profit, net income, cash flow, cash balance, agent count, transaction activity, acquisitions, and material obligations. Record the exact definition beside any company-specific metric.

Compare the same quarter in the prior year before drawing conclusions from a sequential change, particularly in a seasonal business. Note acquisitions and classification changes. Read the footnotes explaining unusual items and identify whether management’s proposed explanation is supported by the numbers presented.

Keep a short section for unanswered questions. For example: “What is the comparable agent count excluding acquisitions?” or “Which adjustment explains the difference between net income and the highlighted measure?” Updating that worksheet after the next release is more useful than repeating a headline that may no longer describe the current period.

Common follow-up questions

Is 87,338 the number of eXp Realty agents alone?

The reported figure is a platform count and should retain that label. The filing discusses the effect of the NextHome acquisition on the increase. Do not use the consolidated total as an eXp-only headcount or an organic recruiting measure without a comparable brand-level breakdown.

Does positive adjusted EBITDA mean the company had a profit?

It does not mean the same thing as GAAP net income. Read the company’s definition and reconciliation to understand excluded items. Evaluate both measures and the cash-flow statements rather than replacing the accounting result with a preferred adjusted figure.

Can the financial report predict my earnings as an agent?

No. Consolidated company results do not establish your production, expenses, support experience, or program eligibility. Use the report to understand the organization and ask better questions, then evaluate your own business model with realistic assumptions.

When should this article be updated?

Update it after a new earnings release or filing materially changes the available information. Replace the period-specific table, verify the reporting scope, and review any changes in definitions. Preserve the distinction between completed results, management forecasts, and later announcements.
